When you are looking for something special in a shuffleboard table, McClure Tables can build one to your special needs or taste. They are small enough to offer custom designs and styles, but large enough to produce the entire shuffleboard table in-house. They start with a press-up and glue our own boards onto an 18-foot RF press. When it comes to the cabinet design and style, they can make almost anything you can imagine. The table below was recently made from cedar logs and handcrafted by one of our bench carpenters. We use a draw knife, just as they did hundreds of years ago, to strip some of the bark from the logs, leaving just enough for character.
McClure shuffleboard tables are all made in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a city with a rich history of fine furniture-making. In fact, at the turn of the century, Grand Rapids was known as the furniture capital of the world. Some of our craftsmen have worked for companies such as Baker Furniture and John Widdicomb Furniture. We are more of a small shop of craftsmen than a mass production factory. This gives us the ability to make custom tables, like our Montana shuffleboard. We have another order for a shuffleboard that we will make from reclaimed barn wood salvaged from old barns torn down in the area. Some of this reclaimed lumber is hundreds of years old and has a rich history and character from the circular saw that cut it. At McClure Tables, we make each of our shuffleboard tables by hand, with old-fashioned pride and craftsmanship.
