We use Tulipwood, Soft Maple, and Hard Maple for the cabinets on our Recreation series shuffleboards. Michigan is where the hard maple grows, and we use locally harvested hard Michigan maple for every playing surface. Our workshop uses a state-of-the-art radio frequency press to build our shuffleboard playing surfaces from locally grown, harvested, and kiln-dried hard maple. We ship no raw materials further than 200 miles into our woodshop to craft your shuffleboard table with a minimum carbon footprint.

Each Recreation table features a playing surface sealed with our specially formulated traditional finish that carries a lifetime warranty. This professional-grade finish ensures smooth, consistent gameplay for decades. Furthermore, the Recreation Series focuses on clean, straightforward cabinetry and traditional leg styles at a budget-friendly level.

The Recreation Series is perfect for homeowners, families, apartments, basements, community centers, and casual game rooms. These tables deliver real hardwood shuffleboard quality without the cost of heavier decorative styles. Additionally, every table is handcrafted in the same shop using the same playboards, finishes, materials, and building techniques as our premium models.

McClure Tables is a family-owned small business building the finest shuffleboards in America. Our craft shop does not use veneer or MDF materials in any cabinets. Recreation Series: Affordable McClure Shuffleboard Table Built in the USA

The Recreation Series is one of the best ways to own a handcrafted McClure shuffleboard table built from real American hardwood at a price that still reflects outstanding value. Every shuffleboard table in this series is made from scratch in our Michigan woodshop, where our craftsmen mill, assemble, and finish each cabinet using premium Hard Maple for long‑term durability. If you’re looking for a shuffleboard table that delivers authentic performance, traditional design, and the quality McClure Tables is known for, the Recreation Series is one of the strongest options available.

While many mass‑produced game room products rely on veneers or imported components, each McClure Tables shuffleboard table in this series is fully handcrafted. The cabinets are built from solid hardwood, the joinery is furniture‑grade, and the playboard uses the same hard rock maple with our lifetime traditional finish that we use on our premium models. This gives homeowners a true professional‑quality playing experience, even in a more budget‑friendly shuffleboard table.

The clean, classic styling of the Recreation Series makes it ideal for modern basements, family game rooms, apartments, and multipurpose living spaces. Because the cabinet design is lighter and more streamlined than our heavier designer series, these models work well where full cabinet mass isn’t required but craftsmanship and hardwood construction still matter. For many shoppers searching for a handcrafted shuffleboard table, this series hits the perfect balance between price, performance, and American‑made quality.

Popular models in the Recreation Series include the Competitor, Liberty, Hamilton, Michigander, and Patriot, each offering its own take on traditional American shuffleboard design. Whether you prefer a simple leg style, a slightly more decorative cabinet, or a classic furniture look, each table maintains the same handcrafted build and professional playboard found across the entire McClure lineup.
