FAQ 20-Foot Shuffleboard Tables
It delivers tournament-style play; you would hardly tell the difference between a 20- and 22-foot table. A 20-foot shuffleboard is a great choice for serious players who don't have room for a 22-foot table.
Shipping for the 20 and 22-foot tables is costly, which is why we charge a premium of $385 to $1,850, depending on the shipping zone. While cabinets usually ship in two sections, the solid-wood playfield is a single continuous piece. If access is difficult, you can choose a two-piece playboard.
The playboard weighs 390 pounds, and we recommend four people handle it. The crate used for shipping also weighs 390 pounds, bringing the total to about 800 pounds, including the cabinets on top. Each cabinet and its legs weigh about 175 pounds, bringing the total setup weight to between 750 and 800 pounds, depending on the model. Don’t worry if the freight company says your shipment is 1,200 pounds; you can remove the cabinets from the crate and lower it separately.
Hard Maple is widely considered the best wood species for playfields because it is extremely hard and remains "true" better than other hardwoods. Finish Type: Seek out traditional polyester finishes (used by high-end instrument makers) or multi-coat hand-rubbed lacquers. These are thinner, harder, and allow for a more authentic "feel" while still being repairable.
Look for a 3-inch-thick solid wood butcher-block playfield for professional-grade play. Seek out a company that is not just an assembler or hybrid manufacturer, but one that actually makes its own playboards and has social media and video evidence to back up that claim.
A 20-foot shuffleboard table is getting a full-size, professional feel. Most tournaments are played on a full 22-foot shuffleboard table, but if you do not quite have that much room, the 20-foot is negligibly different.
