McClure Tables Making The Limbert
Where Design and Craftsmanship Meet
The Limbert shuffleboard table is one of our most refined contemporary designs, inspired by early-20th-century Arts and Crafts principles rooted in Grand Rapids’ furniture-making heritage.
This short film captures the process behind building a Limbert table from raw hardwood to a finished masterpiece. You’ll see hand-selected mahogany prepared in our West Michigan woodshop, traditional dovetail joinery carefully assembled at the corners, and the distinctive arched beam structure shaped using solid-wood lamination techniques.
Every Limbert playboard begins as premium North American hard maple, precision-milled and hand-finished to achieve a full 3″ thick regulation surface. The video highlights the careful shaping, sanding, finishing, and final inspection that define our build process.
There is no narration — just the sounds of the shop, the movement of wood, and the craftsmanship behind each table.
