Shuffleboard Haven Can Now Be Found on the Vegas Strip
When most people think of Las Vegas, beer pong, shuffleboard tables, and cheap drinks are probably not the first thing that comes to mind. However, amongst the hustle and bustle of the ever-expanding Strip, locals have still been able to find a place to enjoy a cold one without having to brave the crowded main floors of a casino. Recently, Vegas has been hit with a string of closures that may go unnoticed to the high rollers in town but are a major blow to everyday Las Vegas residents. O'Shea's is one such haven that recently vacated the Miracle Mile, and Bill's Gambling Hall, a local casino that many Vegas-natives had no problem visiting, taking comfort in the knowledge that there wouldn't be a tourist in sight, shuttered its doors back in April. In October, locals were given a reprieve when DB's Pong and Pool opened its doors, offering locals pool, table shuffleboard, foosball, and beer pong without marketing to the hordes of families and big spenders who vacation in Sin City. "We're trying to do it by offering prices and deals you can't find anywhere else down here. Usually, you're going to spend a lot more on the Strip," said Kevin Rodgers, general manager of DB's, told Vegas Inc. One great offer at the bar is a daily special on Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, which can be purchased in draft or in the bottle for only $2 every day. Along with a great deal on PBR, the bar also offers highly affordable cocktails, inexpensive food, and an "all you can drink" meal-and-beverage special that runs patrons roughly $100 per person. Before this joint becomes a Vegas hot spot, do your best to snag a shuffleboard table, a pint of cheap beer, and enjoy an old-school match with some locals.
